Section 3 of the Village of Chevy Chase
Village History

What is Section 3?
Your zip code says 20815, but in fact, within that zip code there are several "sections" of Chevy Chase, all of which refer to the original subdivisions or taxing districts formed the early part of this century. Our boundaries are Taylor Street on the north including four which dead-end midway between Taylor and Thornapple Streets, Bradley Lane (north side only) on the South, Connecticut Ave. (east side only) on the West and Brookville Rd. (west side only). Image
There are 278 homes in Section 3, one ambassador's residence (the Nigerian Ambassador lives on Connecticut Ave.) and one church--the Chevy Chase United Methodist Church. A map of the Section is on the back of the neighborhood directory.

We were originally chartered on April 4, 1916 but became an incorporated town on June 20, 1982. Prior to that, we were a special taxing district of Montgomery County and we take our name from that original designation, as does Section 5 to our north.
